The Production Pathway – China Program Applied Learning in Global Fashion Supply Chains, is an immersive learning experience designed to bridge the gap between fashion design and real-world production. Created for students, emerging designers, and aspiring brand founders, this program equips participants with the practical knowledge required to confidently bring a collection to life.
In today’s global fashion industry, creativity alone is not enough. Understanding how garments are produced, how materials are sourced, and how to work effectively with suppliers is essential. China remains one of the world’s most influential production destinations, offering unparalleled access to textiles, trims, manufacturing expertise, and innovation. This program places participants directly within the global fashion supply chain, where ideas are transformed into tangible products.
Guided personally by Vivienna Lorikeet, participants gain hands-on insight into sourcing materials, negotiating with suppliers, understanding production timelines, and navigating the complexities of manufacturing at scale. China offers a rare learning environment where every element needed to build a fashion label exists within reach, making it an invaluable experience for those ready to move from concept to production.
Over 15 days, the Production Pathway – China Program travels through four key cities that define China’s fashion and manufacturing landscape. In Guangzhou, participants attend the iconic Canton Fair, the largest international trade fair in China, founded in 1957, alongside immersive visits to the renowned Guangzhou Fabric Market. The journey continues to Yiwu, home to one of the world’s largest wholesale markets, offering unmatched access to accessories, components, and production resources. In Suzhou, a historic fashion hub celebrated for its silk heritage and high-end textiles, participants explore digital printing facilities and garment production factories in real time. The program concludes in Shanghai, a global metropolis where tradition meets innovation and fashion intersects with business and technology.
Designed for those ready to take the next step, this program reveals how the fashion industry truly operates behind the scenes and supports participants in developing informed, commercially viable fashion practices.
